We’ve just had a classic car club weekend away at Dunsley Hall; we had half the hotel rooms booked for Saturday night. As one of the organisers I’d like to thank the staff for their support during the planning and for their big part in making the weekend the success it was. Providing private dining for us for breakfast and dinner was the cherry on top, thank you; we were able to chat and catch up happily without disturbing other guests. The evening meals that we individually pre ordered each morning, were delicious. Everyone enjoyed the weekend, so much so there is talk of us basing this annual event, which could be based anywhere in the north of England, at the same location next year…

I had been working hard and needed a quiet break. The hotel was in a great location and the silence was golden, my room was clean with generous complimentary tea/coffee and bottled water. Some bathroom accessories with clean white towels. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel felt pleasantly warm. Good food and lovely staff. Thanks for a great stay.

Firstly £130 for bed, breakfast and evening meal is a great price for a couple. I thought the food offered was good and drinks reasonably priced. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I loved the interior of the building. The poor wi fi and tv reception is not really acceptable nowadays I feel although to be fair the hotel warn you. The gardens and outside seating could be so much nicer if some effort was made. I think staff, whilst friendly, maybe have never visited other hotels. I would have liked to have been told what time breakfast was and for my bottle of wine to be opened and poured for me. So overall I liked it and would return but it could be much better with just a few tweaks.

We gave stayed at Dunsley Hall a few times over the last 15 or so years and have never been disappointed. We've just got back from our latest week there and I must say the staff are all extremely pleasant with nothing too much trouble. The meals were varied and very tasty and the room was very clean with daily check ups for any requirements. The only reason the location loses a mark is because it is over a mile up a single track road, but, having said that, it's not often you meet any traffic. Excellent value for money. Keep up the good work and don't alter anything. Graham and Judith Readshaw

Great place. Lots of character and in great surroundings. Ideal spot to get to Sandsend & Whitby, etc. The staff are fantastic. Food is fantastic. It's up for sale and hopefully the new owners will keep the character of the building and the staff get a rise. To say there all working brilliant with a smile on there faces, not knowing what's round the corner. There very polite and helpful. What a great weekend. Recommend to all.

We have stayed here on and off since 2017. We were a little disappointed when we visited in November. There were a few things we felt weren't up to standard, but we still enjoyed our stay. This visit (16th May) was different again. Everything from the room upgrade, there was a wide selection on the menu, all beautifully cooked and presented, the service, the staff and, of course, the price was exceptional. Thank you, we'll be back.

We spent one night here taking advantage of the dinner bed and breakfast deal and felt it was great value for money, dinner was fine, room was comfortable and setting was extremely peaceful. Room 9 looks over the garden and has a modern bathroom, beautiful old windows and so so peaceful. The bar is atmospheric and the drinks prices for an hotel are very reasonable. All the staff we encountered were friendly and engaging. Bed mattress maybe due for replacement and pillows not too comfy. Maybe a bit of music in the dinning room at night and breakfast would provide a bit more ambience. However for a relaxed one night great value break this takes some beating.
